COVID-19 Prevention
The following will be in effect due to our COVID-19 prevention plan until further notice:
These measures will be reviewed on a weekly basis by staff.

- ALL A.A. Meetings are closed to the public except for facilitators approved by staff.
- A.A. will be attended by clients only.
- Sponsoring by phone only.
- Family Living Skills is closed to all family members.
- No Visitations.
- All clients are instructed to wear face-masks (provided by the staff) upon leaving their sleeping quarters.
- All group sessions are done while obeying social distancing guidelines.
- Sanitation is done 3 times per day to all hot spots and high trafficked areas using hospital grade disinfectant.
- We have installed hand sanitizing stations on high trafficked areas like the AA room, the office and the kitchen.
- Potential clients who are interested in joining our program must call and be screened over the phone first.
- A COVID-19 screening survey will be provided to all potential clients during the intake process.

The Texas Alcoholism Foundation, Inc. dba The Texas House, is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1965 to help men with drug, alcohol and behavioral problems. The mission of the foundation is to provide quality residential drug and alcohol abuse treatment to our clients. Attention is given to the individual's physical, emotional, social and spiritual health. Since its inception, The Texas House has served the needs of thousands of men.

1. Unconditional Positive Regard: Our Texas House counselors accept you for who you are, and provide support and care no matter what you are going through.
2. Genuineness: Our Texas House counselors feel comfortable sharing their feelings with you. Our counselors provide you with a model of good communication and show you that its okay to be vulnerable.
3. Empathetic Understanding: Our Texas House treatment team and support staff extend empathy to you, both to form a positive therapeutic relationship and to experience an understanding of your condition from your perspective. We place ourselves in your shoes to feel what you are feeling.

The Texas House was established in 1965 as a non-profit organization providing comprehensive treatment for indigent men with alcohol and other drug dependencies. Our program is steeped in the traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous and operates as a Therapeutic Community.
The Texas House Therapeutic Community is a positive peer driven environment offering a one year residential substance abuse treatment program for adult males. Our goal is to foster spiritual growth by utilizing the tools to change personal behavior in the context of community life and responsibility.

The Texas House is able to provide residential substance abuse counseling for adult men without insurance or funding. Partnering with Work Quest, a non-profit organization that manages the operations of the Texas State Use Works Wonders Program, Texas House is able to offer a one year residential program at no out of pocket cost to the client.
